We've been making snow lanterns at our place. We read about them in a Tasha Tudor book and had to try it for ourselves. The hard part is waiting for there to be enough snow and then waiting for it to get dark to put the candles in them! You just build little igloos out of snowballs, leaving an opening, and then put a small candle inside. Love it!

Every year, I intend to do those with the kids. Your picture is beautiful. If we get a good snow over the break, it's going to happen, and Tomas is excited to help.
The hiatus is over! Took you long enough. Give me a few more months and I'll be back at the University of Parvo too.

I must admit that I did not take this picture (I still have a film camera, so I had to steal this photo off of the Internet). But our snow lantern looked exactly like this.
