What I've Been Reading Instead of Cleaning My House

Are you boring?

I've just realized that I'm even more boring than I thought -- so I win!

We often play a game we call "Who's the Most Boring." It's a get-to-know-you game where everyone gets 10 pennies and you have to say something that you've NEVER done, but you figure everyone else HAS done. If the other people haven't done it either, they hold on to their pennies. If they have done it, they toss one of their pennies into a center pile. Whoever is the last one with pennies is proclaimed the most boring -- and thus, the winner.

Here are some of my "never" dones:
  • I've never sent a text message
  • I've never broken a bone
  • I've never gotten a parking ticket

And the ones that always win:

  • I've never been to IKEA
  • I've never been to Walmart

What about you? Are you boring, too?

Avoiding IKEA and WalMart means you're smart, not boring. Sadly, I'm not smart.

You've never been to Wal-mart?! That is quite unusual. I love Wal-mart...I would have gotten to keep my penny for never breaking a bone! But I've done the rest of those things :)

I can understand IKEA b/c I am not a fan but I know now you definitely didn't grow up in the south b/c wal-mart is a STAPLE where I'm from

I have never owned a cell phone.
I have never watched: Desperate Housewives, 24, or probably any other popular TV show you could name from the past decade. (I can't even name most of them.)
I have never eaten lobster.
I live in Utah and I have never learned to ski.
I have never turned a cartwheel.

I always lose this game so I am not going to try.

No text messages, no broken bones and no parking tickets either. Common BONDAGE. However, on the parking ticket. I had to be assertive to get out of one on Saladin Street in East Jerusalem once...nudging out as the policeman, mounted on horseback didn't want me to leave!!!! =)

Man, I wish I could say I've never been to Wal-Mart. I really hadn't until I moved to the happy valley though :)

Also, I've never broken a bone!

Also, what's the deal with IKEA? You don't go there on purpose or it's just coincidence? I'd love to take you for the first time if you want to go. I know it sounds lame, but their macaroni and cheese is really good and I would go just for that. I have to return some stuff some time soon...

RABID -- maybe I'm just lazy.

SHANA -- I'm going to have "never been to Walmart" on my gravestone.

SUZI -- I'm afraid I'll buy everything, so I don't go in. Less temptation that way.

SHILLIG -- not growing up in the South, we didn't have any around until just recently.

GEO -- I proclaim you the MOST BORING! OK, I have never turned a cartwheel either (though I have tried) and I've never seen "24."

HEIDI -- that's because you are NOT boring, which is why I have to live vicariously through you.

CAMILLE -- what is with macaroni & cheese at IKEA? Isn't it supposed to be a furniture store? You know, I'm morally opposed to stores that sell food AND clothing (I'm sure it's not Kosher), but food and furniture? What?

IKEA does have a good restaurant, and CHEAP. That's why I love the whole store, it's CHEAP!

SUZI -- cheap? Hm, maybe I should go.

Hey, I just realized that I've never been on Facebook and I've never been to Krispy Kreme (I've eaten their donuts, but never stepped foot in the store).

Lois, I went to IKEA today and thought of you as I was buying $1.50 pillow forms and $3 glass canisters. LOL

SUZI -- I actually drove by IKEA the other day. Didn't stop in, though.
